Making reference to the setting, it is carefully described in the book by means of evidence and concise historical location. On the other hand, the movie presents the setting in only one visual shot, avoiding additional information.
Finally, the theme presents no variation in both versions of the story; Phileas Fogg’s self-confidence allows him to reach his goal successfully. He went round the world in the established time and won the bet. The theme is directly told to the readers and spectators at the beginning of the tail and it is developed all over it.
In conclusion, both versions are a good option to enlarge our knowledge of the world. Of course some people would prefer one option or the other. Personally, I would rather prefer reading a book; I would allow my mind to create its own filmic version.
